Position: Sr. Lead Design Validation Engineer
Status: Fulltime

Description:
Solarflare is a leading supplier of 10G LAN IC solutions. The design validation engineer is tasked with ensuring our products perform as promised to our customers. The scope of product spans controller ICs, physical interface ICs, circuit boards, embedded firmware, and system level software. These products are validated across mechanical, electrical, functional, operational, environmental, and system requirements. The work starts with product development specifications that lead to the creation of a meticulous validation test plan. The plan is based on:

Industry standards compliance; End-user metrics; Interoperability and compatibility requirements; Logo requirements,
System specifications; Data sheets; Application notes and design collateral
The work continues with the validation plan guiding efforts in the evaluation of these products through detailed test procedures in an advanced, robust lab setting. Test equipment consists of scopes, signal and spectrum analyzers, traffic generators, and test management applications software. We use a variety of set ups that include test boards, evaluation kits, reference designs, and custom test fixtures. Test systems are configured from a large farm of cable configurations, servers, switches, and operating systems. Results are collected and assembled into detailed reports. This effort includes close coordination with systems engineering and product development. The validation effort concludes with a qualification for product release. Additional deliverables include test summaries, failure analysis, defect tracking, and qualification reports.

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and oversee RX or TX path chips consisting of very high speed, very high linearity data converters for 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications
• Circuit design and feasibility analysis for future improvements, layout oversight and post-layout verification of entire chip
• Interact with packaging, ESD, test development and lab measurements

Qualifications:

Position: ASIC Design Engineer
Status: Fulltime

Responsibilities:
• Design, verification, implementation (ASIC) of advanced signal processing algorithms for the physical layer of high speed wired data communication networks
• Develop ASIC specification, architecture, and micro-architecture of SOC implementation signal processing and communications algorithms
• Development/simulation of RTL hardware implementations in verilog
• Synthesis, gate level simulation, timing analysis, design for test, of complex digital ASICs

Qualifications:

Position: Associate Verification Engineer
Status: Fulltime

Responsibilities:
• Design verification of a high performance physical layer application specific integrated circuit (“ASIC”) device
• Responsible for the creation of ASIC test plans and hands on development of the test bench
• Duties include developing test case via VERA/VERILOG, performing simulations and debugging and documenting failures, designing and analyzing coverage metrics to ensure completion, analyzing test failures and aiding in debugging logic designs, utilizing the latest program libraries for synthesizing .13 micron and below ASIC, writing scripts, and ensuring proper register-to-register delays and input/output delays, conducting clock and chip level static timing analysis, determining proper load and drive values, assisting backend engineers in the use of synthesized netlist, developing self-checking test benches, creating and loading libraries and developing parameters to test benchmarks for the ASIC/Digital block.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years industry experience writing script and developing benchmark testing for ASIC or digital block
• 2 years experience with SPECMAN or VERA development tools, and perl/TLC or C/C++, and Verilog or VHDL programming languages with knowledge of UNIX platform.

Position : Principal System Engineer
Status: Fulltime

Responsibilities:
• Conceptual design, architectural partitioning between analog and digital signal processing, and interface definition between major blocks (e.g., AFE, DSP, MAC, firmware, and external components) associated with communication transceivers
• Participate in the transceiver systems specification of a high-speed communication integrated circuit with emphasis on the analog and mixed signal portion of the solution
• Develop behavioral simulations and author system specifications
• Develop techniques to mitigate nonlinearities in the AFE
• Work with and support the chip designers during the physical design phase of a project
• Participate in pre silicon verification, post silicon validation and specification conformance

Qualifications:
• Solid understanding of communication theory, fundamentals of signal processing, physics and modeling of transmission media and sources of interference
• Demonstrated experience in design and specification of mixed signal, high complexity chip solutions
• Requires working expertise in a system simulation tool preferably C or Matlab

Position: Buyer Planner, Supply Chain Logistics Manager
Status: Fulltime

Description:
Manage material and supply logistics supporting Solarflare's manufacture of semiconductors and circuit board products. Aggregate and reconcile demand forecasts from Sales, Marketing and Engineering resources. Procure components and supplies based on forecast demand. Monitor WIP status with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, expediting when necessary. Process customer orders and complete shipment of Solarflare products by promised dates. Monitor and maintain inventory at prescribed levels internally and across Solarflare's internationally-based supply chain. Coordinate international shippment of product from Solarflare between vendors or to customers from Solarflare's on-site inventory stores or via contract manufacturers.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years experience in supply chain logistics with demonstrated background in procurement of materials, coordination of supply chain activities and customer fulfillment processes. Candidates with experience in the sectors of IC manufacturing or printed circuit board products carries a substantial advantage.
• Experience working with procurement systems, MRP and WIP management systems including understanding of requirements for order processing and Approved Vendor Lists.
• Regular communication and collaboration with suppliers and Solarflare's management team to accurately represent material status, forecast and build plans is a large part of the job.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is a necessity. In particular, strong Excel skills are a must. Experience navigating and maintaining existing spreadsheets as well as generating new ones is necessary including entry of data and familiarity with basic formulas. Knowledge of basic analysis tools such as charting and filtering are also required. Familiarity with pivot tables carries an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience with international shipping logistics, packing requirements, freight carriers, insurance and related transport practices based on standard Incoterms. • Familiarity with corporate quality requirements and procedures built around ISO and SOX is needed. A track record of participating in supplier business reviews is a plus.
• Position requires clear spoken and written English language skills. Additional languages are not required but may be a benefit - in particular, Chinese or Mandarin which are common within Solarflare's supply chain.

Education:
Bachelor of Arts degree or certification in supply chain management is desired.

Responsibilities:
• Use practical knowledge and experience in the semiconductor and systems business to provide technical hands-on support to the customer. Talk with customers, analyze their technical requirements and champion solutions
• Understand and prioritize market and customer requirements
• Assist customer integration of Solarflare physical layer products
• Review customer's schematics and board layouts
• Work in the lab with state of the art equipment to debug customer designs
• Work closely with marketing and engineering to provide real-time customer requirements and product feedback

Status: Full Time

Responsibilites:
The Sr. TME will use practical knowledge and experience in the semiconductor and systems business to provide technical marketing support to the FAE team and to the customers. The ideal candidate would have experience with both PHY and Ethernet controller products.
