Chairman of the Board, Solarflare Communications
Russell Stern has served as President and CEO at Solarflare Communications since 2004. He was formerly President and CEO at JNI Corporation in San Diego, California. Prior to JNI, Mr. Stern served as General Manager and COO at Quantum Corporation. For more than 13 years, he held a number of increasingly responsible positions in the disc drive industry including five years at Western Digital Corporation in Irvine, CA, where he held the positions of Sr. VP, R&D, VP, Worldwide Operations and as Co-Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Stern has also held executive engineering and marketing positions with Seagate Technology and Adaptec. He began his career at IBM, where he held various engineering and management positions in the development and manufacturing of the IBM PC / XT / AT and PS/2. He obtained his Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. Mr. Stern is also a Foundation Board member of the Orange County High School of the Arts, a chartered public school in Santa Ana, CA.

Bandel L. Carano joined Oak as a General Partner in 1985. Bandel has invested in companies with emphasis on design automation (Centric Software, Interconnectix, Parametric, Synopsys and Tensilica); telecommunications (2Wire, Airspan, Avici, CommVerge, CoreTek, FiberTower, General Bandwidth, Metawave, NeoPhotonics, Netopia, PictureTel, Polycom, PulsePoint, Qtera, ReliOn, Sentient Networks, Tegic, Trapeze, Wellfleet, White Rock Networks and WFI); software (Entropic, Illustra/Informix, Sybase, Tele Atlas and Visto); and advanced semiconductors (Actel, Airgo, CommQuest, Kenet, Level 5, NemeriX, Newport Media, nLight, Plastic Logic, Resonext, SMIC, Solarflare, Stretch, Synaptics and Virata). Prior to Oak, Bandel worked with Morgan Stanley's Venture Capital Group. He was responsible for advising Morgan Stanley on high-tech new business development, as well as sponsoring venture investments. Bandel received BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He currently serves on the Investment Advisory Board of the Stanford Engineering Venture Fund.

Charles Cotton was Chairman of the Board at Level 5 Networks. He is a director of Library House and a business angel. Cotton previously served as Chairman ofGlobespanVirata, Inc. (NASDAQ: GSPN), headquartered in Red Bank, New Jersey, which resulted from the December 2001 merger between Virata Corp. and GlobeSpan Inc., forming the world’s largest DSL chipset and software company. Prior to the merger, Mr. Cotton was CEO of Virata Corp. While at Virata, he re-directed the business from its networking equipment origins and led the transition of the original Cambridge, UK company, to a Delaware corporation, prior to taking the company public on the NASDAQ market in November 1999. Mr. Cotton was previously CEO of London-based Shandwick Europe and, prior to that he was president of Thermal Scientific Inc, based in Boston Mass., and director of Thermal Scientific Ltd, the London Stock Exchange listed specialist engineering firm. He served as sales and marketing director at Sinclair Research Ltd, and, before that, he held senior operations, finance, marketing and product planning positions in the motor industry for British Leyland Motor Corporation and Ford. Charles holds a BA Honors in Physics from Oxford University.

In creating Foundation Capital in 1995, William Elmore was merely continuing his long history of building strong organizations from the inside. He is currently also serving on the Board of Directors for Onyx Software (NASDAQ: ONXS), Wind River Systems (NASDAQ: WIND), Atheros Communications, MarkMonitor, Packet Design, TeaLeaf Technology, Vernier Networks, Wherenet, Biz360, UxComm, and ADEXS. Before Foundation Capital, Mr. Elmore was a General Partner at Inman & Bowman for eight years, and before that, he worked as the president of Visual Engineering, a graphics software supplier, and in a variety of key marketing management roles at Hewlett-Packard. As director and past president of the Western Association for Venture Capitalists, and in his role as a director of the National Venture Capital Association, Mr. Elmore is actively involved in defining, serving and representing the interests of the venture capital and private equity industries. In addition to an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, he holds a BSEE and MSEE from Purdue University.

Mr. Folino is executive chairman of Orange County's Emulex Corporation, a high-technology network storage company whose customers include Dell, EMC,
Fujitsu, Siemens, Groupe Bull, HP, Hitachi Data Systems, IBM, NEC, Network Appliance, StorageTek, and Unisys. Recently, he also served on California Governor Schwarzenegger's California Commission for Jobs and Economic Growth. Mr. Folino has been an executive for several high-tech companies, including the Thomas-Conrad Corporation, which was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing privately held corporations in America. In 1999, Folino was recognized as Orange County Entrepreneur of the Year for technology and in 2000 as Ernst & Young's Orange County Director of the Year for high growth technology. He is a member of the Board of directors for the Orange County Performing Arts Center, South Coast Repertory Theatre, and Chapman University. Mr Folino began his career with the Xerox Corporation in Seattle where he rose through the ranks to become a regional general manager. Folino is a graduate of Central Washington State University and received his M.B.A from Seattle University.

Bruce joined Accel in 1997 and specializes in enterprise and consumer software investments. Bruce currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors at several private and public companies, including Amobee , comScore (SCOR), Double Fusion, Mind Candy, Qliktech, Responsys, Streambase and WeeWorld. Bruce was responsible for Accel's investment in Ajuba Solutions (acquired by Interwoven, Inc.), Exchange.com (acquired by Amazon.com), Itemfield, (acquired by Informatica), and SupportSoft (SPRT). Prior to Accel, Bruce held executive marketing and sales positions at Illustra Information Technologies, a pioneer in the area of object-relational databases. In 1996 Illustra merged with Informix Software, where Bruce became General Manager of the Data Warehouse Business Development Unit. Prior to Illustra, Bruce spent almost eight years at Sun Microsystems in a variety of roles, including launching Sun's efforts into the financial services market, moving to Hong Kong to assist in opening and developing the Sun Asia subsidiary, and managing the market development organization upon his subsequent return to the US. Bruce holds an MBA from Stanford and a BA from Columbia University. Bruce currently lives in London with his wife and two children.

Andrey is a venture manager with Amadeus Capital Partners Limited. He has been involved in Amadeus' investments in Solexa, a company developing revolutionary DNA sequencing instruments, Artimi, a wireless USB chipsets company, Level 5, a 10Gb Ethernet company, Valista, a mobile commerce software provider and Teraview, a terahertz instrumentation company. Prior to joining Amadeus Capital Andrey gained substantial international experience in telecommunications and software sectors at companies as varied as PanTel Telecom, a telecom operator, Nextra, an internet division of Telenor, Scala Business Solutions, a multinational business software provider and Cable & Wireless's subsidiary in Russia. He holds an MBA degree from INSEAD and an MSc in Computer Science from the Air-Space Instruments University in Russia.
Head of Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge
Professor Andy Hopper is head of the Computer Laboratory at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Corpus Christi College. He was managing director of AT&T Laboratories in Cambridge, UK, previously known as Olivetti Research Laboratories. Leveraging an extensive research team, Prof. Hopper co-founded 12 high-technology businesses including Virata Corporation and Acorn Computer Ltd. Virata Corporation was publicly traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange, and Acorn was publicly traded on the London stock exchange. He is Chairman of RealVNC Ltd, Ubisense Ltd, and Adventiq Ltd. January 2007, Mr Hopper was made a Commander of the British Empire for services to the computer industry. He holds a BS degree from the University of Wales and a PhD from the University of Cambridge. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and of the Royal Society.
Managing Director and Founder, Anthem Venture Partners
William Woodward brings to Anthem a distinguished career of more than 15 years of entrepreneurial and investment experience in technology, software, and interactive media. His background has driven the Anthem strategy of focusing on entrepreneurs. Prior to Anthem, Mr. Woodward was a managing director of Avalon Investments, a $100 million early-stage technology venture capital firm. At Avalon, Woodward was the lead partner in the Los Angeles office. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma (national business honor society), The Digital Coast Roundtable, and on the boards of several private companies. His technology interests include innovative software platforms, emerging new media models, broadband convergence, and life sciences. Mr. Woodward is also on the board of Planet A.T.E, and is the chairman of Wavestream, Nevengineering, and Pulse. In addition, he manages the progress of Corus Pharma, Siperian, Advanced Cell Technologies, and RFMagic.
