Solarflare Communications Invited to Deliver Convergence and Virtualization Technical Presentation at Xen Summit

Revealing how 10 Gigabit Ethernet technology addresses major data center challenges

Irvine, CA – (November 14, 2007) – Solarflare Communications, the leader in standards-based 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) silicon and reference designs, will deliver a technical presentation during the Xen Memory and Storage session at Xen Summit in Santa Clara, CA, November 14-16. Lead by Greg Law, converged I/O architect for Solarflare, this talk will discuss the efficiencies and challenges associated with data center consolidation enabled by server and storage virtualization.

Law's 30-minute technical presentation will address three major concerns in the area of consolidation and virtualization including the need for high-bandwidth networks and I/O server systems, support of several different network types and I/O performance bottleneck. In his talk, Law will present a perspective on how these challenges have been met by the industry through 10GBASE-T Ethernet features such as virtualized Ethernet controller interfaces and iSCSI implementations.
