SolarFlare Communications Names Scott Hughes as Vice President of Finance and Administration
Irvine, Calif., May 6, 2004 –SolarFlare Communications Inc., a
developer of high-performance semiconductor products for physical layer
connectivity and the leader in 10 Gbit/s Ethernet over copper development, has appointed Scott Hughes as Vice President of Finance and
Administration. Mr. Hughes will report to Russell Stern,
CEO.
“Scott adds significantly to the depth of our executive
team,” said Russell Stern, “He is a savvy business executive as well as a
seasoned HR professional. Scott
will be responsible for all Financial, Human Resources, Legal, and IT functions
at SolarFlare”
Mr. Hughes was formerly Vice President, Worldwide Services at Quantum Corporation (NYSE: DSS), a leading supplier of tape drives and storage automation systems. Prior to Quantum, Scott spent over 10 years at disc drive maker Western Digital Corporation (NYSE: WDC), where he held several senior management positions including VP Human Resources, VP Sales Operations, and VP E-Business. Scott started his career with Hewitt Associates, a consulting firm specializing in Compensation, Benefits and Human Resource management. He holds a B.A and M.A. in Economics from Stanford University.
