SOLARFLARE APPOINTS MIKE RODENSKY AS VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES

Semiconductor Veteran Rounds Out Management Team

Irvine, CA, September 9th, 2002 – SolarFlare Communications, a fabless semiconductor company developing solutions to increase the capacity of communications channels, today announced the appointment of Mike Rodensky to the new position of Vice President of Sales reporting to George Zimmerman, CEO. In this position Mike will be responsible for building a worldwide sales organization and developing partner strategies.

“Mike joins SolarFlare with a proven track record of building strong customer relationships and bringing innovative solutions to market,” Said George Zimmerman, CEO. “His experience will be instrumental in positioning SolarFlare for growth.”

Mike brings twenty years of experience in sales management to SolarFlare and has played a pivotal role in several early stage ventures. Most recently he was VP of Sales and Marketing at Telephotonics, an early pioneer in the integrated optics field. Before Telephotonics, Mike was VP of Sales at Maker Communications (acquired by Conexant Systems), where he helped the company create the network processor market. Mike has also held executive level sales positions at Philips and Advanced Micro Devices. Mike earned his BSEE from Tufts University in 1982.
