Solarstorm™ High-Performance Ethernet Controller Fact Sheet
Solarflare was founded with the mission to be the leading semiconductor supplier of Ethernet products that will enable the rapid adoption of 10Gb for data center and enterprise networks. The company is developing and delivering to the market solutions that enable OEMs to lower the cost of 10G solutions to end customers.
In 2007 Solarflare Communications will be sampling reference designs for 10Gb Ethernet controllers that deliver the optimal balance of performance, price and power. While the advanced performance and virtualization features will be disclosed as we approach the actual sampling dates, these reference designs will make possible the lowest powered 10G NICs on the market. Solarflare’s unique use of both custom and standards-based IC processes delivers to our OEM customers the technology and solutions to bring to market 10Gb server NICs at three to four times the cost of 1GbE server NICs.
These PCI Express based reference designs will support such operating systems as Linux 2.4, Linux 2.6, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista,and OpenSolaris as well as the following 10G Ethernet port types: 10GBASE-CX4, 10GBASE-SR, and 10GBASE-T.
